- What do you mean by Certified and
Independent Trainers?
From www.nvc-uk.info:
Description of Certified Trainers (CT) and Independent Trainers
(IT).
Both Certified & Independent Trainers;
(1) are committed to embodying nonviolence, compassion and
courageous authenticity through applying NVC in their own lives and
sharing it with others;
(2) have been accepted by the existing members of the NVC-UK as
full members of this network, and contribute to its
development;
(3) are members of a Peer (Quality Assurance) Circle or have some
other method of assuring their continuing development as a
trainer/sharer of NVC which a quorum of NVC-UK members has
accepted; and
(4) maintain a commitment to working collaboratively in the UK and
to contributing to the global NVC network.
CT - Certified Trainers
Some trainers are certified by the Centre for Nonviolent
Communication (CNVC). We call them certified trainers (CT). This
means that they fulfil 1-4 above and:
(a) have completed CNVC’s certification
process, the current version of which can be found
here
(b) go through an annual renewal process to maintain their
certification. This renewal process includes providing evidence of
their continuing development as a trainer; and
(c) maintain a commitment to following the CNVC certified trainer
guidelines outlined
here
(d) as part of their commitment to support the Centre for
Nonviolent Communication (CNVC), Certified Trainers make a
financial contribution to CNVC on an annual basis.
IT - Independent Trainers
Some trainers, for a variety of reasons, have chosen not to obtain
or maintain certification at this time. We call them independent
trainers (IT). This means they fulfil 1-4 above and:
(a) have completed at least 30 days with a CNVC-certified trainer
or Marshall Rosenberg, and studied/worked with at least one NVC-UK
trainer;
(b) maintain a commitment to following the “CNVC Guidelines for
Sharing NVC for Individuals Who Are Not CNVC-Certified Trainers”
which can be found here
